Basement Windows

Windows have the ability to make your basement appear more pleasing and improve safety. Large basement windows, sometimes known as "egress windows," from Pella of Victoria are created to let more light into underground spaces than the older, smaller, rectangular windows that are put above ground. They also provide an escape in case of an emergency.

The primary distinction between basement, or egress, windows and standard windows is that basement windows must be big enough for an average-sized person to escape through in order to meet safety requirements outlined in building codes. You are able to select from properly sized casement, sliding or double-hung windows when you add basement windows. Be sure you completely understand local building codes prior to purchasing basement windows.
